One of the unique features of GNYADVS is the willingness of its members to support each other by sharing ideas and information, or by simply giving moral support to a colleague.

Membership Directory-Your membership directory, which is updated and distributed annually, will quickly become a valuable tool for informally contacting your colleagues.
  • Share materials-acquire samples of documents, forms, etc. that can be tailored to meet your institution's needs.
  • Conduct comparative studies (such as average value of meal tickets).
  • Discuss creative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Find model programs for duplication.
  • Relax in a 5-minute conversation with someone who truly understands.
Mentoring Program-New members can opt to become matched with an established DVS who will:
  • Share a wealth of knowledge regarding policies and procedures, current regulatory requirements, etc.
  • Provide support and guidance.
  • Introduce you to other members from like institutions who have your common interests.
Job Search Opportunities-Receive information about available DVS positions within the chapter and/or the state.

Borough Meetings
  • An informal lunch meeting held annually in your own borough.
  • An opportunity to become better acquainted with Board members and your more local colleagues.
  • Learn about Board service opportunities that will enhance your career.
  • Invite colleagues who might be potential members.
